Being the type to get really into all things vintage, I love delving into the fashion of the past. And lately I’ve been really into retro hair styling: pin-up girls in particular. The beauty of the pin-up hair styles is that they are very simply glamorous, and they can create a very old Hollywood vibe (think Lauren Bacall and Veronica Lake). Recreating the gorgeously bouncy finger waves, the victory rolls, and insanely tight pin tuck curls that define the 40′s are the perfect way to pay homage to this era in your style. It can be a really fun way to change up your hair. And what is fashion but a way to express yourself and have a little fun?
For some inspiration.
By the looks of it, one of the biggest trends coming in fashion right now is big, bold patterns. During the spring Fashion Week just past, tons of designers utilized the idea. One of the biggest uses was by Louis Vuitton. The entire runway show was very much consumed with the same checkered pattern. It was a huge risk, but it really paid off. People have been raving about the show since. Marc Jacobs, the head designer, wanted to really embrace the statement. Checkered dresses and separates all keeping with the Louis Vuitton vintage aesthetic graced the runway. I personally loved it and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for some more reasonably priced forms of the trend. But how did you guys like it?
Ok, so I am absolutely in love right now… Seriously. Look at these cool vintage Levi shorts from Love Clothing. They are my newest obsession. I love the cool added polka dot fabric on them. They are super cute and very retro. For 50 euros I may just have to get them. Or perhaps a DIY project will come out of this inspiration. So, do you absolutely love these or what?

Check out the oh-so-gorgeous Shailene Woodley’s new photoshoot with clothing brand Asos. It’s no surprise that Shailene looks beautiful in the shots. But I love the vintage vibe of the shoot too. The clothing was classically cool and I especially loved the very retro sunglasses! So definitely check it out and let me know what you guys think.
